These certificates are handed out at the completion of a distribution board replacement /upgrade, additional circuit added to existing installation or a new installation. An EIC can only be provided if we have carried out the work. If a certificate is needed for an existing installation, an EICR would be provided. Please see EICR section.

An EICR done correctly, evaluates the state of the electrical installation. It provides the owner with any issues and/or improvements that would need attention.

Councils throughout the UK are making this document mandatory when letting a property. Insurance companies are also requesting this document when insuring properties.
